Why Jerry-Rigs Exists
Jerry-Rigs started from hands-on automotive projects and the need to solve problems that do not always have an off-the-shelf answer. A bracket may need to be redesigned. A calibration may need to be corrected. A modification may need to be tested instead of assumed to work.
The long-term direction is an automotive business built around engineering, performance development, diagnostics, tuning, and custom solutions. The goal is not to bolt on the most parts. The goal is to understand what the car needs, make the change for a reason, and verify the result.
As Jerry-Rigs grows, this site can become a portfolio of project cars, customer work, products, technical case studies, and documented results.
What Automotive Tuning Is
Modern engine and transmission controllers use calibration tables and control strategies to decide how the vehicle responds. Tuning changes selected calibration values so the controller better matches the engine, fuel, airflow, drivetrain, and intended use.
Depending on the vehicle, calibration work can involve fuel delivery, ignition timing, airflow modeling, torque management, throttle behavior, idle control, shift behavior, boost control, rev limits, fan operation, and other strategies.
A good tune is not simply a file that makes more power. It is a controlled process of measuring the vehicle, changing the correct areas, reviewing data, and validating that the result is safe and consistent.
